Bodegas Protos is synonymous with quality and one of the most recognized wineries in Spain. Originally from Ribera del Duero, it has extended its range of action to D.O. Rueda, where it has chosen to settle in the region of La Seca (Valladolid), the most valued by experts for the quality of its Verdejo vineyards. Here Protos Verdejo 2023 is born, a single varietal that lets the grape speak and allows expressing the typicality of the area.
It is made from vineyards over 15 years old planted on dry land on gravelly soils, and at a high altitude -between 700 and 800 m- where grapes with magnificent acidity are obtained. The grapes were harvested at night to preserve all the freshness of the fruit. It is aged on the lees for approximately 3 months (decided by tasting deposit to deposit).
Bodegas Protos has the merit of combining prestige and popularity. Founded in 1927 in Peñafiel, in the Ribera del Duero, it has extended its tentacles to the nearby D.O. Rueda. And, of course, with fifteen vintages on the market, its whites are already a benchmark for consumers. Once again, Protos remains at the forefront.
Protos Verdejo 2023 Magnum 1.5L (D.O. Rueda) is ideal to accompany an eggplant lasagna or rice Milanese.
