Las Suertes 2021 is a single vineyard red wine created by Suertes del Marqués in the recognized D.O. Valle de la Orotava, located in the north of the beautiful island of Tenerife. This wine comes from a small historic plot of just 0.75 hectares, with vines that are over 90 years old. The vines are grown in volcanic soils, a factor that contributes to the wine's uniqueness, and the traditional trellising system is used. The production of Las Suertes 2021 is carried out with a philosophy of minimal intervention, aiming to preserve the authentic character of the vineyard. Fermentation occurs in open tanks, using a high proportion of whole clusters. Subsequently, the wine undergoes aging for about a year in used 500-liter French oak barrels, during which it rests on its lees. This careful process culminates in bottling without filtration, ensuring that the wine's personality and mineral expression remain intact. Upon serving, it displays a captivating bright cherry red color. On the nose, it reveals an elegant complexity with aromas evoking red fruits, delicate floral notes, and a notable mineral character typical of the volcanic soils of Valle de la Orotava. On the palate, the wine is fresh, balanced, and vibrant, with fine tannins leading to a long finish, where notes of fruit, soft spices, and a subtle saline sensation intertwine. This Atlantic red presents great finesse, ideal for pairing with white meats, rice dishes, aged cheeses, or dishes from the rich Mediterranean cuisine.
