La Misión de Menade 2020 is a unique white wine made by Bodegas Menade from 100% Verdejo grapes from very old vineyards grown in sandy soils of Castilla y León. These historic vines, many of them ungrafted, provide grapes of great concentration that allow the elaboration of a complex wine deeply linked to its origin.
The winemaking process combines different aging techniques to provide greater depth to the wine: part ferments and matures in used French oak barrels , another in large volume vats and a small proportion in amphorae , with an aging period of approximately 10 months , followed by bottle maturation before release.
In the glass it has a yellow color with golden reflections and a complex nose with ripe fruit, herbaceous notes of thyme, laurel and fennel, along with mineral nuances and a slight woody background. The palate is ample and voluminous, with good acidity and a long, fresh finish with hints of citrus and ripe fruit.
A white with personality and gastronomic character, ideal to accompany fish, seafood, rice or creative cuisine dishes , showing a deeper and more complex interpretation of the Verdejo variety.
