Lara O Blanco Crianza 2022 is one of the most unique white wines from D.O. Ribera del Duero, produced by the small winery Territorio Luthier, which focuses on limited production wines with a notable terroir identity. This wine is primarily made from Albillo Mayor, complemented by the traditional variety Pirulés, both sourced from over 70-year-old vines located around Aranda de Duero. The aim of producing this wine is to create a white wine suitable for aging in Ribera del Duero. The fermentation occurs in concrete tanks using indigenous yeasts, and part of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. Afterwards, the wine ages for about 6 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels, and some batches are matured in tinajas to highlight the mineral expression of the wine. On the nose, the product is complex and elegant, with aromas of ripe white fruits, quince, citrus, and white flowers, complemented by notes of aromatic herbs, soft vanilla, fine toasting, and mineral hints. On the palate, it is broad, creamy, and fresh, with good structure and a balanced acidity that provides tension and aging potential. The finish is long, with a slight saline touch and a subtle noble bitterness characteristic of Albillo Mayor. This wine is perfect for pairing with fatty fish, seafood, rice, poultry, Castilian cuisine, and aged cheeses, offering a very personal gastronomic experience.
