Tihom Blanco 2020 is an exceptional white wine from Rioja, created by Bodegas Tihom, a personal project by Jorge Muga from the renowned Muga family. This wine aims to highlight the great potential of flagship whites in Rioja, using uncommon indigenous varieties like Maturana Blanca and Garnacha Blanca, along with a small proportion of Viura from old vines in cool regions of Rioja Alta. Each variety is vinified and aged separately for about 12 months in fine-grained French and Hungarian oak barrels, which adds remarkable depth. Subsequently, the wine’s blend is allowed to rest on its lees in concrete tanks, enriching its complexity and texture. On the nose, this wine stands out for its elegance and minerality, presenting aromas of white and stone fruits, citrus, dried flowers, chamomile, and perfectly integrated spicy and toasted notes. On the palate, it is broad, silky, and precise, with excellent acidity and great structure, culminating in a long, fresh, and slightly saline finish that reflects the terroir's characteristics.
