Tinto Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva 2018 is one of the most exclusive wines from Ribera del Duero (Spain) , produced by Tinto Pesquera (Familia Fernández Rivera) only in exceptional vintages. It is made from 100% Tempranillo sourced from a single vineyard, La Rendeja , located at over 800 metres above sea level on limestone soils, giving the wine concentration, elegance and a strong sense of terroir.
Winemaking combines tradition and precision, with manual harvesting and a long ageing of around 28 months in American oak barrels , followed by bottle ageing. This results in a deep and complex Gran Reserva, considered one of the finest expressions of both the winery and the region.
In the glass it shows a deep cherry-red colour with aromas of ripe black fruit, sweet spices, vanilla and toasted notes. On the palate it is powerful, silky and well structured , with great concentration, refined tannins and a long, persistent finish that balances intensity and elegance. A top-tier wine, ideal with red meats, game or fine cuisine , with excellent ageing potential.
