Vallegarcía Syrah 2022 is a red wine produced by Pago de Vallegarcía , an estate located in the Montes de Toledo near the Cabañeros National Park in central Spain. This wine is part of the winery’s single-varietal range and highlights the excellent adaptation of the Syrah grape to the unique terroir of the estate.
The vineyards are planted at around 850 metres above sea levelon poor quartzite and siliceous soils. These conditions, together with the continental climate and the influence of the surrounding mountains, allow for balanced ripening while preserving natural acidity and freshness in the wine.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected at optimal ripeness. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in French oak barrels for around 12 months , gaining complexity, structure and refinement.
On the nose it reveals aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry , accompanied by notes of black pepper, spices, Mediterranean herbs and subtle toasted hints from oak ageing. On the palate it is balanced, elegant and well structured , with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish marked by spicy and mineral nuances.
It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, lamb, game dishes and traditional stews , where its structure and spice complement the richness of the food.
