Bodegas Izadi was founded in 1987 by Gonzalo Antón, who, along with a group of friends and businessmen from Vitoria, created an innovative project in the heart of Rioja Alavesa.
Villabuena de Álava, where part of the family was already involved in viticulture, was the chosen town where an innovative winery focused on the production of quality wines was built. Extensive knowledge of hospitality and catering led Gonzalo Antón to conceive a wine, Izadi, which soon became one of the most appreciated in the world of gastronomy. The incorporation of new production techniques and their great desire for continuous improvement create a unique style that is consolidated over time.
In 2000, the incorporation of his son, Lalo Antón, into the company boosted international sales and the expansion of the company, which, under the name of Artevino, undertakes projects at Finca Villacreces (D.O. Ribera del Duero), Bodegas Vetus (D.O. Toro) and Orben (D.O.Ca. Rioja).
The commitment to quality, the connection to gastronomy, and the attachment to the land are the fundamental pillars on which Bodegas Izadi is based.
