The Mosto de Leda Red Wine is one of the most authentic and elegant expressions of Tempranillo in Castilla y León, produced by Bodegas Leda under a philosophy of absolute respect for the vineyard and the environment. It is an organic and multi-terroir wine, which combines the essence of different estates located mainly in Tudela de Duero, but also in nearby areas such as Toro and Cigales, all of them with a strong viticultural identity linked to the Duero River.

This red wine comes from old vineyards between 40 and 60 years old, cultivated in soils of various textures that bring complexity and character to the whole. Each plot is vinified independently, respecting the potential of each terroir, to then integrate into a blend that accurately reflects the versatility of Tempranillo in different areas of Castilla y León.

The 2021 vintage was distinguished by an ideal climatic balance: a mild winter, a cooler summer than in previous years, and moderate rainfall that favored a slow and homogeneous ripening cycle. The spring frosts barely affected the vineyard, and the September rains contributed to a slow and complete ripening of the grape. The result was a harvest of healthy, balanced and excellent quality grapes, with a more pronounced acidity, a solid structure, and exceptional chromatic intensity.

The winemaking was carried out with the precision that characterizes Bodegas Leda, always seeking to maintain the purity of the fruit. The aging took place for 15 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels, a process that brings depth, complexity, and elegance without detracting from the varietal character of the Tempranillo.

In the glass, the Más de Leda presents a bright and intense cherry red color, with a high layer that anticipates its concentration. On the nose, it displays aromas of red and black fruits —currant, blueberry, blackberry— along with floral notes of violet and subtle spicy and sweet nuances from the wood. In the mouth, it stands out for its silky and balanced entry, lively acidity, fine tannins, and a long and harmonious finish, reflecting its measured aging and its multi-terroir origin.
