Sight: 'Añares Terra Nova Sauvignon blanc presenta color pajizo pálido con reflejos verdosos. '
The Añares Terranova White Wine from Grupo Bodegas Olarra presents us with this White Wine from D.O. Rueda (Spain) made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety.
- Grape Variety Sauvignon Blanc: Originally from France, this variety adapts perfectly to the highlands and continental climate of the Rueda region. The vineyard from which it originates is located in Medina del Campo at over 700 m above sea level. Planted in shallow soils, with a top layer made up of pebbles and fine clays that help retain water and produce wines with more structure than is typical for the area. Below these surface clays are poor soils, with sands and gravels that help produce elegant wines from small grapes with high aromatic concentration.
- Production: The harvest, which took place at night, was carried out with strict sanitary criteria and rigorous monitoring of the ripening process. After pressing, the musts fermented at temperatures between 14 and 16°C for about twelve days, in order to maximize the characteristic aromatic typicity and smoothness of the Sauvignon Blanc. After aging on lees, the wine was clarified and stabilized for bottling.
Bodegas Olarra
The origins of this winery come from a building, a work of Juan Antonio Ridruejo in 1973, designed and conceived for wine. The most emblematic feature is its roof, which crowns the barrel room, formed by 11 hexagonal domes that help prevent sudden temperature changes.
This design was intended to be reflected in the wines and in the way of producing them, as in Añares, where the goal is to create a wine that adapts and evolves to remain trendy over time. To become emblems of true wine from Rioja.
For the Añares line, there are not only red wines but also white, rosé, and special vintages. This positions Bodegas Olarra as one of the emblematic wineries of the area, which has maintained its status as a benchmark for Rioja wine, adaptable and capable of continuing through time.
