Amaren Crianza, made with Tempranillo and Garnacha, seems to us an elegant and very well-balanced wine. A wine to be enjoyed.
Amaren, in Basque, means "of the mother", was born with the 1995 harvest as a tribute to Angeles, mother of the winemaker Juan Luis Cañas, and since then it has been the pursuit of perfection in the vineyard, its selection, production, and aging to achieve wines that excite.
Amaren Crianza is a blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnacha. Manual harvest, collected in baskets and transferred to the winery for selection on a double table, clusters and then grapes. Only the perfect grapes will continue their process. Both varieties have been harvested, processed and aged separately in order to extract their maximum potential and later create an aromatic ensemble. Tempranillo contributes finesse and elegance to the wine, typical of the variety and faithful expression of the characteristics of the best soils in Rioja Alavesa. Garnacha is the ideal complement to transmit its particular notes of red fruit that bring freshness and delicacy to the wine.
It has been aged for 12 months in barrels.
Amaren Crianza is ideal to accompany aged cheeses, cured meats, and stewed lamb. It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
