Ángelis a red wine made by Bodegas y Viñedos Ilurce with 100% Garnacha grapes from cepas over 50 years old. This wine has a short aging in French oak barrels.

History

In 1965 and after finishing his military service, ANGEL and Roque, our uncle and grandfather respectively, planted the vineyard from which we obtain the wine that today bears their name.

This wine comes from our estate "La Casilla del Rihuelo", a vineyard of 6 hectares located on the slopes of Mount Yerga at an altitude of 340 meters, in the town of Alfaro. In this vineyard the predominant variety is Garnacha (95%), with vines of different varieties scattered throughout the plot. It was planted in 1965 in a royal frame. It is a goblet-trained vineyard and very respectful of the environment, with sandy loam soil.

From this vintage it also has grapes from our "Serrano" vineyard. The grapes are harvested by hand and transported in 300 kg crates. These crates are refrigerated in a chamber so that the grapes enter the tank at a low temperature.

The grapes are cold macerated in the tank before fermentation to complement the extraction that occurs during alcoholic fermentation. It is aged for 4-6 months in French oak.

We are dealing with a wine that has not undergone any kind of treatment, which may present a slight sediment at the bottom of the bottle, a consequence of its natural evolution.
