Cardhu Gold Reserve is an opulent expression of golden color, the result of a sophisticated fusion between the softness and silky character of Cardhu with hints of dark chocolate and ripe fruits.
This exceptional whiskey is produced by carefully selecting toasted barrels, offering an exquisite palate with nuances of fruit and baked apple. To the nose, it stands out for its honey aroma complemented by clear and robust grains, followed by opulent malt and exotic fruits such as mango and kiwi, with a touch of grass and a discreet presence of peat. On the palate, it is introduced with a rich wave of mature malt that brings spices and notes of vanilla, sweetened by the use of toasted barrels, culminating in a smooth and rewarding finish. Matthew Crow, our master blender, has carefully selected the barrels for conceive this tempting single malt, with a slightly spicy aftertaste. Compared to the classic 12-year-old, the Gold Reserve is fruitier and warmer; Its initial sweetness gives way to flashes of crisp orange and a discreet mineral drydown.
The toasted notes pair perfectly with parmesan shavings and dried fruits, while menthol chocolate is an ideal companion. It is recommended to enjoy it in a balloon glass, neat, with ice or water.
