DESCRIPTION:

A special wine recently brought from Rioja Alavesa, an enchanting red wine that knows how to please.

TASTING NOTES:

Color: intense cherry red color, clear and bright.
Nose: an explosive aromatic richness, with aromas of red fruits, ripe plums, and underbrush.
Palate: structured and very fresh, with a persistent and attractive finish. A serious flavor yet very drinkable.
Aftertaste: long, juicy, very pleasant.
Alcohol: 14% Vol.

SERVICE TEMPERATURE:

16-18ºC

RECOMMENDED WITH:

Tapas and cold cuts, Iberian ham and Iberian sausages.
Pasta and rice dishes with strong flavors.
Roasted and grilled meats: beef chop, hamburger, Iberian secret and presa, lamb chops on the vine.
Meat and game stews.
Highly recommended for dessert.

PRODUCTION:

Harvest: Manual in 15 kg boxes.
Fermentation: 21 days in stainless steel tanks.
Routines: Cold maceration of the grapes before fermentation to favor the extraction of aromatic precursors. Daily pumpovers for more extraction and greater color intensity. Spontaneous natural fermentation.
Aging: 14 months in French oak barrels (half of the barrels are new) and a minimum of 3 years in the bottle.

WINERIES AND VINEYARDS

Location: Plots at altitude in the area of 'Viñas de Briñas', between the terms of Briñas (Rioja Alta) and Labastida (Rioja Alavesa).
Climate: Oceanic Mediterranean, with continental and Atlantic influences.
The 2017 vintage was characterized by a harsh frost at the end of April and by subsequent months of great prosperity, ideal for obtaining a healthy and high-quality harvest.
Soils: Calcareous in nature with clayey and sandy incursions, with a clay loam texture and very poor in organic matter.
