Gran reserva 904 s a red wine reserve of D.O. C Rioja made BY bodega La Rioja Alta with Tempranillo varieties (90%) and Graciano (10%) of vineyards of more than 40 years of the areas of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba.
The official ' excellent ' qualification of this vintage coincides with our winery appreciation. After sprouting in regular dates, moderate rainfall and well distributed in spring led to a correct vegetative development that lasted until curdling, helping to balance the production. The temperatures of September, moderate during the day and fresh at night, allowed the grapes to rolling the tipicity of this area of Rioja.
The alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ⁰ C for 15 days. The selected batches then completed the malolactic fermentation naturally in 38 days. In March 2006, the selected wines passed to 4-year-old American oak casks, where they remained until March 2010.
During their upbringing they trasegó, every six months, by the traditional barrel-to-barrel method. After a settling time, the final coupage was bottled in November 2010.
Grand Reserva 904 La Rioja Alta is cherry red with medium layer ruby edge, clean and shiny. Very intense in the nose and with a pleasant bouquet of balsamic notes: Almonds, chocolate mentholated, vanilla and roasted that give way to notes of fruit in jam. Good structure in the mouth, balanced, pleasant acidity, soft round tannins and very sweet that leave a long and complex aftertaste. Excellent to enjoy now, although the time in bottle will continue rounding its fine bouquet.
