The Red Wine Solagüen Crianza is a red wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by Bodegas Solagüen, belonging to Bodegas Labastida. It is a single varietal of Tempranillo, the typical grape of La Rioja.
THE GRAPE
From the more than fifty plots that make up the Labastida vineyard, we select a minimum of two parcels and a maximum of five per term. The vast majority of the vines in these vineyards are Tempranillo, coexisting with some Garnacha.
THE HARVEST
The 2016 campaign was slightly rainier than average in the area and somewhat cooler than usual, which influenced the late and aromatic character of the harvest. We harvested and processed by zones, starting with the lowest ones at 450 meters above sea level and ending with the highest ones, above 650 meters. After processing, we aged the wines for 12 months in French and American oak barrels of 225 liters.
