Valtravieso Winery and Vineyards presents Valtravieso Valdelobas Red Wine, an exceptional monovarietal of Tinto Fino, sourced from the most limestone-rich areas of the "La Cotarra Alta" and "Valdelobas" plots of our "La Revilla" estate, whose vineyards have an average age of 15 years and low yields. An expressive wine, with character, power, and elegance. A limited production wine with great aging potential.

Valtravieso Valdelobas Red Wine is an expressive and characterful red wine, combining power and elegance in each sip. Its production is limited, giving it a special status, and it has great aging potential, meaning it will improve with time in the bottle. This wine has been widely recognized for its quality, scoring 92 points in the 2022 Peñín Guide for the 2018 vintage, 96 points by Tim Atkin in the same vintage, and a Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2020 for the 2016 vintage. It has also received 93 points from PARKER for the 2018 vintage.

The production of Valtravieso Valdelobas Red Wine is meticulous. A careful selection of the best grapes from the most limestone-rich plots is carried out, followed by a very short pre-fermentation maceration. During fermentation, the grapes are gently infused to release their compounds into the must, with one or two daily pump-overs and a precise délestage. The post-fermentation maceration is longer and determined by tasting.

The wine spends 16 months in barrels, with 12 months in fine-grain, large-volume French oak barrels, followed by 4 months of refinement in foudre, avoiding an excess of wood influence.
