Elaboration and aging

San Vicente is a red wine made from the Tempranillo Peludo variety, a historical variety that has practically disappeared due to its low yield. San Vicente is produced following an artisanal process. The harvest is carried out manually after a selection of the best bunches in the vineyard. In the winery, a second selection of grapes is made, so that only the best grapes from the best bunches are used.

After fermentation, it undergoes a 19-month aging process in new Bordeaux barrels made of French oak (90%) and American oak (10%).

Tasting Notes of San Vicente

  • Appearance: San Vicente has an intense cherry color, covered, with high intensity garnet edges. Bright. Abundant tears that stain the glass.
  • Nose: Concentrated, intense and expressive nose. Fine toasts, roasted notes, coffee and cocoa, and spicy notes, vanilla, initially giving way to notes of well-ripe black fruits, certain floral notes, subtle lactose notes, and mineral hints.
  • Palate: In the mouth, it is elegant, powerful, fleshy, with a great fruit load very well integrated with the wood. Structured, balanced, without edges, a magnificent, long and very persistent red wine.

Pairing

San Vicente is ideal for accompanying large game and poultry meats, red, white and gelatinous meats, roasts and stews.

It is recommended to consume at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
