Vega Sicilia Único 2011 is a wine made with the grape varieties Tinta Fina and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Flagship wine of Vega Sicilia, it is the ultimate expression of know-how from the vineyard to the winery, intense, full of nuances and flavor. A wine without which the boom of the Ribera del Duero in recent decades would not be understood.
Vega Sicilia Único 2011 is the flagship wine of Vega Sicilia, although it shares with the rest of the winery's wines its special brilliance.
It comes from the oldest vineyards on the property, and in its composition, in addition to tinta fina, it includes more cabernet sauvignon than merlot. Despite its age, the red wine maintains a liveliness provided by its good acidity balanced with a robust alcohol content.
The estate consists of 1,000 hectares, with 210 hectares dedicated to vineyards. 40 hectares are dedicated to the production of this wine.
The aging of this wine is one of the longest in the world, lasting a minimum of 10 years between wood and bottle. It is produced in French and American oak, in new 225-liter barrels.
Recommended pairings include: roasted lamb, grilled red meats, roasted red meats, small game, big game, acorn-fed Iberian ham.
It is recommended to decant before consuming. Consume this wine at a temperature between 17 and 18ºC.
