White Wine Verdejo Codonal Vinum Nobile
The wine achieved is one of the best whites in Spain and the world, in the variety of &ldquo,Verdejo&rdquo, and to prove it, nothing better than tasting it. You will get a world of sensations, freshness, aromas, nuances, fruitiness and natural acidity, typical of its single varietal grape, which is striking for its balance and finesse. Its bouquet, so special and in harmony with its image, elevates it above the quality standards of the sector. This can only be achieved because in its birthplace, ALDEANUEVA DEL CODONAL, (Segovia) and the 5 surrounding villages of the Ribera del Voltoya, there are the best vineyards of Verdeja grapes in Spain. There are more than 220 hectares of pre-phylloxera goblet vines, foot-trained and centenary (some of them two hundred years old) unique in the world, which were already cultivated in Roman times by our ancestors, and have been maintained from generation to generation until the present day. These centenary vines are the ones that transmit to the grapes the differentiating and exclusive sensory nuances of each vintage. But what makes truly exceptional and gives value to our vineyards and its Verdejo grape, are the pebbles (CODONES) and sandy soils, unique in Spain, where the vines are planted.
These authentic terroirs, with their own peculiar characteristics, together with the altitude (864 meters above sea level) and the extreme temperatures, with heavy frosts in winter and, in summer, very hot during the day and a strong drop in temperatures at night, make the ripening of the Verdejo grapes to endure fruity, sensory and organoleptic notes that differentiate them from any other type of white grape. The structure of the land (pebbles and sands) and its altitude were what prevented the phylloxera plague, which devastated almost all the vineyards in Europe, from destroying them here in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, maintaining its cultivation in this area and for this variety in goblet, in the same way as then until today. To a pruning, harvesting and manual selection of the grapes in the old style, methods accepted and controlled in their different phases by the current D.O. of Rueda, is added a continuous, careful and professional process, where the native yeasts of the environment, help to a better and peculiar fermentation, in barrels of the best French oak, giving the wine the characteristic and peculiar personality that it has. We can say that our land and its people speak through their wine and this through their grapes but especially for its old vines of glass transmitted from generation to generation.
The Burgundian bottle, dark to preserve the wine from the light, top quality natural cork and long life, for its conservation, the right temperature for its maintenance in the cellar, and a special packaging so that the bottles remain in a horizontal position, make the wine is preserved for several years without losing its most genuine qualities and can reach the consumer in perfect condition for consumption, honoring its name CODONAL VINUM NOBILE. The centenary, pre-phylloxera and free-standing vines, worked as they used to be in the past, are going to be very popular in the future. Its launch on the market has begun with very good reviews by the experts. - Alcoholic content 14%- pH 3.5- Total acidity
