Elaboration and aging
Viña Albina Reserva is made from the Tempranillo (80%), Mazuelo (15%), and Graciano (5%) grape varieties. The grapes come from vineyards in Cenicero, Sonsierra, and Villalba de Rioja. As for its elaboration, traditional vinification is carried out. The grapes are selected, destemmed, and crushed to undergo maceration and fermentation with temperature control.
After this process, Viña Albina Reserva spends 24 to 30 months in American oak barrels, with rackings when necessary. It rests in the bottle for 12 months before being released to the market.
