Rebellious wines that bring together terroir, tradition, and limitless creativity. (Zamora)

Bernardo Fariña: "I believe in a rebellious, restless, and creative oenology. After more than 30 harvests, my path combines tradition, terroir, and experimentation to discover the hidden side of each grape. I reclaim ancient methods, reinvent them, and collaborate to continue learning. My wines are born from the earth, from respect for its history, and from the constant desire to explore new boundaries."

Breaking the rules always has its charm, and in oenology, even more so. Discovering the hidden side of grapes is what has always captivated me.

I have been fully immersed in the world of wine for over 30 harvests. My first steps were in the family business, where I started as a cellar assistant, learning from the bottom up, getting my hands dirty, and understanding wine from the roots. It was there that I discovered that this was not just a job, but a way of life. After my studies in Madrid, I continued as an apprentice winemaker, collaborating in the creation of great wines and refining my own style.

Over time, I found my own path: a free, restless, and rebellious winemaker. I have never been convinced by the conventional. I like to challenge boundaries, go further in the vineyard and in the winery.

That curiosity led me to France, where I absorbed their philosophy of wine and the concept of terroir. There, I studied the use of barrels and especially their toasting, and in 2003 I took the big leap: I started my first personal project making wines with the Juan García variety in Fermoselle, in the Arribes del Duero.

Since then, the adventure has not stopped:
?? A wine that combines five terroirs of Castilla y León: Tinto 5 DO’s.
?? A rosé sparkling wine made by the ancestral method with Rufete in the Sierra de Salamanca.
?? An Orange wine aged in 400-liter barrels.
?? And what's coming in 2025: a claret fermented in open tanks without temperature control and whites matured, but full of life.

But the best part of it all has been collaborating with other winemakers, stepping out of my comfort zone, and understanding that no one has the absolute truth. Listening, sharing, and learning always enriches. Because in wine, as in life, there is always more to discover... and more to drink. ????
