Algueira Pizarra is a red wine from the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin made 100% with Mencia grapes. Perhaps it is one of the most recognized references in the winery's trajectory. The grapes come exclusively from the Carballocobo estate. The whole clusters without destemming are foot-trod, subjected to a cold pre-fermentation maceration with exhaustive temperature control. After more than 30 days, the wine sleeps in French oak barrels and foudres for 12-18 months. Tasting Note of Algueira Pizarra Already in the glass it shows an intense cherry red color, of medium-high layer, with a very intense nose and the complexity of interesting red fruit, the balsamic notes of the terroir and the minerality that gives the wine its name. The attack on the palate is fresh and its passage is intense, structured, with a crunchy tannicity, complex and warm. With very long aftertastes and a retro-nasal that evokes the mineral character of the plot and its production with stems.
