Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is a sparkling wine from the Champagne appellation produced by Maison Ruinart.

Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2010 is made exclusively from Grand Cru chardonnays, 90% of which are grown in the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly and Cramant) and 10% in the Montagne de Reims (Sillery). This iconic grape variety reflects the rich diversity of terroirs in the Champagne region and is present in all Maison Ruinart cuvées.

Harvested by hand and composed of Grand Cru chardonnays, this cuvée undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages on lees for at least 9 years. It takes 12 years to produce this oenological gem. As part of its quest for excellence, Maison Ruinart is working to improve the Dom Ruinart aging process and give its cuvées greater depth. Cellar Master Frédéric Panaïotis and his team decided to reintroduce the traditional cork technique for wine aging. This elegant material preserves aromatic freshness throughout the aging process and replaces metal closures.

This choice also involves the return of a centuries-old gesture: manual disgorgement. When tasted, the wine reveals an aromatic complexity with a freshness enhanced by a touch of bitterness. After a very cold winter, 2010 was characterized by an early dry summer and a rainy August. From the tasting of the base wines, the 2010 chardonnays were surprisingly rich. A balance that allowed the winemaking team to express all their know-how in the blend. It was the promise of a great vintage.

Tasting notes Dom Ruinart 2010

COLOR: At first sight, the champagne presents a golden yellow tone, with greenish hues and a fine and persistent effervescence.

NOSE: The first impression reveals a powdery, floral and mineral note that evokes the chypre universe of perfumery. The second impression brings together toasted and spicy notes such as nutmeg, roasted hazelnut and almond, along with a touch of coffee.

PALATE: Aromas of fig leaf mingle with notes of black tea and fresh spices in the mouth. A fresh lingering finish is enhanced by an elegant bitterness.
