Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato is a red wine made from Nebbiolo in the DOCG Barolo by the Giuseppe Mascarello Winery.

Monprivato is the largest legacy vineyard under Mascarello family ownership, acquired in 1904 and located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto. Due to its south-west orientation and soils rich in blue loams and silts, it is recognised as one of the most outstanding plots in the entire Barolo region. Its distinction lies in its ability to impart solid structure, longevity and subtle fragrances to the wines. From this terroir emanates the winery's historic Barolo, although it is only made in the most outstanding vintages; in less favourable years, the grapes are destined for the Langhe Nebbiolo.

With vineyards dating back about half a century, the wine has undergone a traditional ageing process in large oak barrels for three years. The Barolo originating here has the ability to deliver remarkable pleasures as time passes, presenting a delicacy accompanied by an imposing texture.

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Tasting Notes

Traditional, with hints of balsam and a touch of iron, it presents itself as a blend of herbs and red fruits, followed by notes of dried leaves and pine needles, followed by cherry and redcurrant. On the palate, there is a freshness and balance, with ripe, soft tannins that are appealing at this stage, but also have the potency and complexity to be enjoyed on the palate.
