Castiñeiro Espadeiro is a single-varietal red wine that stands out for being made from Espadeiro grapes sourced from 40-year-old vineyards in the Valle del Salnés. This wine results from a careful process where the grapes are de-stemmed and fermented in open oak barrels. After fermentation, a two-week maceration is conducted with daily punch-downs to ensure proper extraction of aromas and colors. Subsequently, the wine ages for 6 months in used French oak barrels, adding subtle nuances without overpowering the wine's characteristic freshness. The 2019 vintage presents a low-layered cherry-red color. On the nose, fruity aromas evoke red fruits, blueberries, and cherries, complemented by spicy, balsamic, and floral notes of roses. On the palate, it feels fresh, with vibrant acidity and rounded tannins, making each sip a pleasant experience. This wine, with an alcohol content of 11% vol, is ideal for enjoying with a good meal, highlighting its light and fresh character.
