Bark from certain evergreen trees. They are reddish-brown to leather brown canes, with a characteristic smell and flavor, sweet and slightly pungent, which in this case we find in a ground form.

When in branch form, it is used in many sweet dishes and pastries, such as apple pie, desserts like rice pudding or curries. Similarly, it pairs very well with some beverages, such as sangria, spirit-based drinks, or hot chocolate. It can also be used to flavor milk or tea.
