It is grown in the Mediterranean, especially in Almería, Murcia, and the south of Alicante. Different varieties are distinguished according to their ripening period, which are classified into early (autumn), intermediate (early winter), and late (early spring):

• Vernia: large size, rough and elongated, medium/high juice content and few seeds, with a lot of flavor and low acidity.
• Fino vernia: medium size, lots of juice, thin skin and good color, medium flavor.
• Primafiori: medium size, lots of juice, thin skin, good color, medium flavor and acidity. The most sold in Spanish markets.
• Eureka / Rodrejo: medium size, lots of juice, thin skin and good color, medium flavor with a higher degree of acidity.

When purchasing them, we should not always choose the ones that look the best; it is advisable to compare the quantity and quality of juice of the different types of lemons.
