Amancio 2019 is regarded as one of the great wines of the Eguren Family and a prestigious reference from Rioja. It comes exclusively from the exceptional La Veguilla vineyard in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Only the best bunches are used to make this wine, following an extreme selection in both vineyard and winery that allows for working with a very small portion of the total production. This careful selection aims to achieve maximum concentration and expression of the terroir. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts after a cold maceration. It undergoes a long aging of 24 months in new French oak barrels, adding depth and complexity to the wine without hiding the varietal character of Tempranillo or the mineral personality of the vineyard. On the nose, the wine offers aromas of blackberry, black cherry, ripe plum, cocoa, fine spices, licorice, and mineral notes, along with elegantly integrated toasted memories. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, with firm and silky tannins, great depth, and notable aging capacity. The finish is long, intense, and persistent, confirming Amancio as one of the great estate wines of Rioja.
