Amaren Malvasía 2019 is a unique and exclusive white wine from Rioja, made by Bodegas Amaren, a family project of Luis Cañas in homage to Ángeles, mother of Juan Luis Cañas. This wine comes exclusively from Finca El Pomal, planted in 1912 in Leza, Rioja Alavesa. The old Malvasía vines, with their characteristic golden-rosé hue, ferment in a 1,700-liter concrete egg, remaining 15 months on the lees to achieve maximum purity and mineral expression, without any wood aging. On the nose, it displays aromas of peach, apricot, ripe citrus, dried flowers, and delicate balsamic hints. On the palate, it is broad and complex, with a creamy texture and marked mineral tension that adds length and freshness, reminiscent of great Atlantic or Burgundian whites. This wine expresses a modern and refined interpretation of Riojan Malvasía, being a limited production white with great aging potential.
