Arzuaga Crianza 2020 is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro , one of the leading wineries in the region’s prestigious “Golden Mile”. It represents a classic Ribera del Duero style, combining ripe fruit with well-integrated oak ageing.
The grapes come mainly from the La Planta estate and surrounding vineyards, planted on clay-limestone soils at high altitude. The wine is made primarily from Tempranillo , with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot adding structure and complexity.
After hand harvesting and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged for around 16 months in French and American oak barrels , achieving a balanced integration of fruit and oak.
On the nose it shows aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and plum , along with hints of vanilla, cocoa, spice and toasted notes. On the palate it is smooth, balanced and elegant , with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish.
The Magnum format (1.5 L) allows for slower ageing and improved evolution over time. It pairs beautifully with red meats, lamb, roasts, stews and aged cheeses.
