Baigorri de Garage 2019 is an outstanding red wine from the Denomination of Origin (DOCa) Rioja, produced by Bodegas Baigorrien in Samaniego (Rioja Alavesa). This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo from small plots grown in vineyards over 60-65 years old, located at 650 meters above sea level and growing in clay-calcareous and stony soils with low yields. The small-scale production aims to highlight the concentration and uniqueness of these old vines. The meticulous harvest and selection of grapes are done manually to ensure the quality of the final product. The fermentation takes place in wooden tanks, where long macerations enhance the flavors and aromas. After fermentation, the wine rests for approximately 22 months in new French oak barrels, contributing to its complexity. On tasting, Baigorri de Garage 2019 displays intense aromas of ripe and stewed black fruit, complemented by aromatic herbs, spices, mineral notes, and subtle hints of tobacco, along with smoky and licorice touches. On the palate, the wine is broad and balanced, with refined tannins and good structure, culminating in a long and persistent finish. A wine that will undoubtedly delight wine lovers.
