Mark: Marqués de Murrieta

It comes from Pago Canajas, 9 hectares located in the middle-high part of the iconic Finca Ygay of Marqués de Murrieta, at an altitude of 465 meters above sea level. Its clay-ferrous soil enjoys a large presence of pebbles on the surface favoring the optimal ripening of the grapes. At the end of veraison, the clusters are thinned, limiting production to no more than 1 kilo per plant and selecting small berry clusters of high concentration.

A selected manual harvest is carried out in small capacity pallets to preserve the quality of the grapes. Graciano was harvested on September 28, Cabernet Sauvignon on September 29 and Tempranillo on September 30.Once received at the winery, the bunches are destemmed and subjected to an exhaustive selection process. Each variety is vinified separately and fermented at a controlled temperature for approximately 10 days in 13,900-liter Allier French oak vats. During this period, regular pump-overs and délestage are carried out to favor a perfect extraction of polyphenolic compounds. Each variety ages separately for 20 months in French Allier oak barrels and after blending remains 6 months in concrete tanks before bottling.

"Intense and fragrant nose with hints of blueberry, red plum, thyme, cedar and black pepper. Splendid on the palate, ample, well-defined and with a long, savory finish. A seductive combination of power and elegance".
