The Discovery Collection 2022 is a distinctive white wine from the Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Condado de Huelva, created by Bodegas Marqués de Villalúa. This wine stands out for being made from 100% Zalema grapes, the most representative indigenous variety of the region. The selected grapes come from vineyards located in Villalba del Alcor, where meticulous manual harvesting occurs at different ripeness stages. This process aims to achieve greater complexity and balance in the final product. The winemaking involves partial fermentation in oak barrels and the remainder in stainless steel tanks, contributing to the freshness and depth of flavors. After fermentation, the wine is aged for about five months in barrels of different toast levels, which adds structure and a rich aromatic range without compromising its freshness. In tasting, this wine shows an attractive clean and bright golden yellow color. Its aromas are complex, showcasing notes of white fruits combined with fresh accents and subtle hints from barrel aging. On the palate, it is balanced, fresh, and gentle, offering a smooth passage that culminates in an elegant finish. Due to its versatility and character, it is a very gastronomic wine, perfect for pairing with seafood, fish, or Mediterranean cuisine.
