La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 Selección Especial 2016 is one of the most emblematic wines of the historic winery La Rioja Alta , produced only in high quality vintages within the DOCa Rioja. It is produced from a classic blend of Tempranillo (90%) and Graciano (10%) from selected vineyards in Rioja Alta. After fermentation, the wine is aged for about 4 years in American oak barrels , with traditional racking every six months, followed by a long rest in the bottle before its release.
The nose is outstanding for its great aromatic complexity, with ripe red fruits, balsamic notes and elegant nuances of vanilla, cocoa, tobacco and spices from its long aging.The palate is balanced and refined, with fine tannins, good freshness and a silky texture that provides depth and persistence.
A classic Rioja of great elegance and extraordinary ageing capacity, reflecting the tradition and style of one of the most prestigious wineries in the region. Ideal to accompany roasts, red meats, game dishes or cured cheeses , and also to enjoy at leisure as an after-dinner wine.
