Luis Cañas Viñas Viejas 2022 is a white wine that stands out for its connection to the viticultural roots of Rioja Alavesa. It comes from a careful selection of old Viura and Malvasía Riojana vines, planted in clay-calcareous soils that impart notable mineral intensity to the wine. The grapes are hand-harvested and subjected to a double selection to ensure the best quality. Fermentation takes place partly in 500-liter French oak barrels and partly in tanks, followed by five months of aging on lees with regular bâtonnage. This confers the wine notable volume, complexity, and a silky texture. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of white flowers, chamomile, fennel, and ripe fruits, with subtle touches of hazelnut and fine pastry.
