M de Murua 2019 is a red wine from the DOCa Rioja produced by Bodegas Murua , belonging to the Masaveu group, in the town of Elciego (Rioja Alavesa). It is produced exclusively with 100% Tempranillo from a selection of the winery's oldest vineyards , some over 60-70 years old, located in very specific plots in the surroundings of Laguardia. This is a limited edition that is only produced in high quality vintages , with very small productions.
Fermentation is carried out in concrete tanks and the wine subsequently spends around 18 months in new French oak barrels , which adds depth and complexity without hiding the identity of the vineyard. This process results in a modern and elegant Rioja that combines concentration and freshness.
The nose is intense and refined, with aromas of red and black fruit such as cherry, strawberry and blueberry , accompanied by floral notes of violet, spicy nuances and delicate toasted notes from aging. The palate is velvety, ample and balanced , with good structure, fine tannins and a long and persistent finish where the fruit and licorice notes reappear.
