María 2020 is the most exclusive wine from Viñedos Alonso del Yerro , made at D.O. Ribera del Duero from a careful selection of Tinto Fino grapes from two specific plots on the Santa Marta estate in the area around Roa (Burgos). These plots, with different soils -clayey and calcareous with gravel- give the wine structure, freshness and aromatic complexity.
The grapes are harvested by hand and each plot is vinified separately in large wooden tanks. The wine is then aged for approximately 17 months in French oak barrels and foudres , followed by a long maturation in the bottle before release. This process preserves the identity of the vineyard and produces a deep, elegant wine.
The nose offers intense aromas of ripe black fruits, spices and toasted notes , accompanied by balsamic and mineral nuances. The palate is powerful, structured and very elegant , with ripe tannins and a long, complex finish. It is a wine of great personality and ageing capacity, ideal to accompany red meats, game or haute cuisine dishes.
