Clos Martinet 2021 is one of the emblematic wines of Mas Martinet Viticultors , one of the wineries that drove the renaissance of modern Priorat at the end of the 20th century. It comes from vineyards located in the area around Gratallops , on licorella (slate) soils characteristic of the area, which give the wine its marked minerality and depth. It is made from a blend in which Garnacha, Syrah and Cariñena predominate, accompanied by small proportions of other varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon , which contribute to its complexity.
The winemaking process combines tradition and precision, with careful fermentation and aging for around 22 months in French oak barrels , which provides structure and elegance without hiding the expression of the terroir. The result is a wine of great personality, considered one of the Priorat's benchmark reds for its ability to balance power, freshness and depth.
In the glass it shows a deep cherry red color , with a complex nose with ripe red fruit, mineral notes, spices and light balsamic and toasted nuances. The palate is intense, elegant and well-structured , with silky tannins and an acidity that brings freshness, ending in a long and persistent finish that reflects the unique character of this great Priorat wine.
