Predicador Blanco 2019 is a white wine from Rioja DOCa produced by Bodega Contador , the personal project of renowned winemaker Benjamín Romeo. It represents the white counterpart of the Predicador range, crafted with a modern, terroir-driven approach.
The grapes come from several vineyards located around San Vicente de la Sonsierra and nearby villages , where different soils and exposures contribute to the wine’s complexity. It is made from a blend of Garnacha Blanca, Viura and Malvasía , combining freshness, structure and aromatic intensity.
After a short cold maceration, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels , where the wine remains for around 8–10 months on its lees , developing texture and depth while maintaining freshness.
On the nose it shows aromas of ripe white fruit such as peach and pear , along with hints of citrus, flowers, herbs and subtle toasted notes. On the palate it is structured, creamy and well balanced , with fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish.
It pairs beautifully with fish, seafood, rice dishes, poultry and Mediterranean cuisine , and is ideal for those seeking fuller-bodied, complex white wines.
Since 2007, Contador has been producing the white version of Predicador using a majority percentage of Viura complemented with White Grenache and Malvasia. The grapes come from ten different estates located between the municipalities of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Leza. A fresh white wine with aging that also has structure.
