Vidonia Viñedos Propios 2024 is one of the great volcanic white wines of Spain, made by Suertes del Marqués in the Valley of La Orotava, in northern Tenerife. This wine comes from very old vineyards planted in the traditional braided cord system, on volcanic soils that give it a distinct identity. The Atlantic climate of the region, influenced by the trade winds and with altitudes ranging from 350 to 700 meters, allows for slow maturation, preserving both freshness and acidity, resulting in tense and balanced wines. The vinification of Vidonia combines fermentation in barrels with a long aging on lees, adding volume and complexity to its profile, creating an enveloping texture without sacrificing precision or the wine's characteristic mineral character. On the nose, it presents an elegant and complex profile that includes notes of white fruit, citrus, and a marked volcanic, slightly smoky background. On the palate, it is a structured, fresh, and mineral wine with good acidity that enhances its fine texture. The finish is long, salty, and very precise, clearly reflecting its origin.
