Tamerán Verdello 2020 is a white wine from D.O.P. Gran Canaria produced by Bodegas Tamerán , a project promoted by David Silva together with winemaker Jonatan García. It is produced with 100% Verdello , a minority variety of the Canary Islands grown in ungrafted vineyards located between 620 and 700 meters above sea level on volcanic soils in the interior of the island.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in wooden vats , where the wine remains for about 9 months on its lees. This process provides greater complexity and texture without hiding the freshness and expression of the volcanic terroir.
The nose shows aromas of white fruit and citrus , accompanied by herbal notes and a subtle mineral background. The palate is fresh and balanced, with good acidity, slightly unctuous texture and a long finish with a marked volcanic and saline character. A unique white that reflects the landscape and the winegrowing identity of Gran Canaria.
