Casa Castillo Monastrell is a red wine from the D.O. Jumilla made from 100% Monastrell grapes. It is presented in a 75 cl bottle and has an alcohol content of 14%. The label indicates aging for 9 months in French oak barrels. The declared vintage is 2018, although the commercial text also mentions 2007; this discrepancy does not allow for a single vintage to be confirmed. It shows a very intense cherry color, almost opaque, with violet reflections. On the nose, it exhibits fruity notes of blackberries and blueberries, accompanied by elegant toasted sensations from the French oak. On the palate, it has a medium structure, balanced acidity, great fruity intensity, and a long, sweet finish. The family winery Casa Castillo is directed by José María Vicente. The estate, acquired in the 1940s, spans 402 hectares, nearly half of which is dedicated to vineyards, along with almond trees, olive trees, and pine forest. The family undertook replanting in 1985; the winery began its productions in 1991 and marketed its first bottle in 1993.
