The Malleolus de Valderramiro Red Wine from Bodegas Emilio Moro presents this red wine from the Ribera del Duero D.O., made from 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) grape varieties.
This wine is made from grapes from the Pago de Valderramiro, whose vineyard, planted in 1924, is almost 100 years old and is located in the municipality of Pesquera de Duero, in the province of Valladolid, growing on clay soils. The purpose of making this wine is to give maximum prominence to the terroir.
The characteristics of the Malleolus de Valderramiro harvest include a dry winter and a spring with cool temperatures and abundant rainfall, allowing the vineyard to withstand a very hot summer. Finally, autumn helps provide good ripening.
The alcoholic fermentation has been carried out for 26 days in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The malolactic fermentation takes place in American oak barrels for 30 days, and aging is done in French oak barrels for 18 months.
Serve this wine at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC. It is recommended to decant it before serving.
The history of the Moro family dates back to 1932 as a project of three generations rooted in the Ribera del Duero and dedicated to discovering the characteristics of its terroir in order to transmit them in wines with personality.
Currently, Bodegas Emilio Moro has 200 hectares of vineyards, most of which are located around Pesquera de Duero, the birthplace of the winery's founder, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
