The Bodega Lagar d´Amprius presents us with the Red Wine Nazarín Lagar d''Amprius, a wine from the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Vino Bajo Aragón that stands out for both its quality and its evocative tribute to the famous Aragonese filmmaker Luis Buñuel. Made with 100% Garnacha grapes, this wine is part of the special edition "Los Vinos de Buñuel", which also includes the Lagar d’Amprius Kolenda. The Nazarín takes its name from one of Buñuel's most iconic films, filmed in 1959 and inspired by the novel of the same name by Benito Pérez Galdós (1895).
The bottle of Red Wine Nazarín is a visual tribute to the work of Luis Buñuel. In its design, scenes from various films of the director are screen-printed in white vinyl on a black background, including Nazarín, Un chien andalou, and Viridiana. This design is not only a tribute to cinema, but also turns the bottle into a collectible piece for lovers of the seventh art.
The Lagar d´Amprius Nazarín is a wine made with 100% fine Garnacha, whose vines are carefully cultivated to produce high-quality fruit. The production is strictly limited to 1.5 kg per vine, ensuring that all the potential of the plants is concentrated in a small but extraordinary amount of grapes. This approach allows the finest characteristics of Garnacha to be fully expressed in each bottle.
All vineyards are owned by the winery, which allows for complete control over the cultivation process and ensures that the highest quality standards are followed.
The harvest is carried out at night, when temperatures are lower, to preserve the freshness of the grapes and minimize the risk of oxidation. During transport to the winery, the grapes are cooled using dry ice, a method that ensures the grapes arrive in the best possible condition.
Once in the winery, a cold skin maceration is carried out for 4 days at a temperature below 10ºC. This process allows for better extraction of aromas and colors, and ensures that they remain stable over time. The fermentation is spontaneous, without the addition of commercial yeasts, at a controlled temperature of between 24-26ºC for 8 days.
Subsequently, the wine macerates with the skins for 12 days, increasing the tannins and structure of the wine, giving it greater complexity and body. The malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, where the wine rests on its lees for a minimum of 12 months. This process adds mouthfeel and softness, resulting in a balanced and harmonious wine.
The Red Wine Nazarín Lagar d''Amprius has been widely recognized for its quality, receiving various scores and medals over the years:
