Cune Imperial Reserva Wine

from Decapote

{{getOldPrice()}}{{getPrice()}}

Cune Imperial Reserva has been made since 1920 with Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo grapes, and it owes its name to a special bottling made for the English market called Imperial Pint. It is only produced when the harvest is exceptional, with vineyards over 20 years old and the Atlantic character of that area in Rioja Alta, giving us one of the best wines in Spain for almost 100 years.

Elaboration and aging

Cune Imperial Reserva corresponds to a selection of the best grapes harvested manually in the vineyards of Rioja Alta. After fermentation, the wine is kept in the tank, where it macerates until it reaches the desired color and structure. The malolactic fermentation refines the wine, leaving it with the appropriate acidity.

The aging takes place in American and French oak barrels before being clarified with egg whites and bottled, finally aging in the bottle until it is released to the market.

Tasting notes for Cune Imperial Reserva

  • Appearance: Cune Imperial Reserva has a garnet color with cherry undertones.
  • Nose: Great aromatic complexity with a perfect balance between varietal aromas such as candied fruit, licorice, and those derived from its time in barrels, coffee, toasted notes, cocoa, and subtle balsamic notes.
  • Palate: On the palate, it has a round and friendly tannin, leading to a long aftertaste with fruity notes.

Pairing

Cune Imperial Reserva is ideal for pairing with red meats, game, stews, and aged cheeses. It is recommended to decant before consuming and serve at a temperature between 17 and 18ºC.
