Brega is a Garnacha red wine made by Jorge Ordoñez at his Breca winery, located in the Calatayud appellation, Aragon. This exclusive wine comes from century-old vineyards planted in 1900 and 1911, grown in the highest altitude region for this variety, in slate and quartzite-silur soils rich in iron.
Made entirely from Garnacha grapes, Brega is characterized by its body, balance and long finish. Vinification is carried out in the traditional manner, with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts in open stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 20 months, with the first 10 months in French oak barrels (40% new) and the following 10 months in 600-liter neutral barrels.
