Turó d'en Mata is considered the best sparkling wine in Spain by the famous American publication The Wine Advocate.
Made from the Xarel.lo variety from a single estate owned by the Recaredo family of 0.97 hectares. Vines planted in 1940 on the northern slope of a hill that will give the name to this wine, "Turó d'en Mota", and located in the highest lands of the Alt Penedès, where extremely calcareous soils predominate. Recaredo's vines are grown organically, without the use of herbicides or pesticides, in order to respect the environment.
The grapes are harvested by hand. Exclusively vinified on the property. Second fermentation and bottle aging are carried out exclusively with natural cork stoppers. It remains in the darkness of the cellars for 150 months (always with a minimum of 10 years) until it reaches an exceptionally unique personality.
