Production and Aging

Remírez de Ganuza Reserva 2014 is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Viura and Malvasía grape skins. Temperature controlled prior to fermentation in specially designed refrigeration chambers for a period of 24 hours (at between 4 and 6ºC). Grape selection on the sorting table. Destemmed grape shoulders. Fermentation in 7000-liter French oak vats. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels.

Aged for 27 months in oak barrels (95% French and 5% American).

Tasting Note for Remírez de Ganuza Reserva 2014

• Appearance: Remírez de Ganuza Reserva has a bright cherry color, high layer with ruby reflections on the edge. Fine and intense tears that slowly stain the glass.
• Nose: Intense, penetrating and complex aroma. Powerful aromas of ripe black fruit with a background of sweet spices, balsamic and smoky notes. Creamy and enveloping oak that is very well integrated with the whole.
• Palate: It is powerful, flavorful and meaty. It has a smooth entry with a velvety texture and a good balance between fruit and aging. The finish has many aromatic memories, from black fruits to fine balsamic notes, toasted flavors, and cocoa.

Pairing

Remírez de Ganuza Reserva is ideal to accompany red meats, game, and roasted pork. It is recommended to decant before consuming and serve at a temperature of 16ºC.
