The Belondrade y Lurton 2022 white wine is a jewel made from 100% Verdejo grapes at Bodegas Belondrade, located in the Rueda Denomination of Origin. This winery, founded by Didier Belondrade, has revolutionized the perception of the Verdejo variety, using techniques inspired by the best white wines of Burgundy. The grapes used come from the organic estate Quinta San Diego, which is divided into more than twenty different plots, vinifying each separately to highlight the diversity of the terroir. Fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine ages for 9 to 10 months on its lees in French oak barrels, followed by additional refinement in bottle before being released to the market. This careful production gives it a unique, sophisticated character. On the nose, Belondrade y Lurton 2022 is complex and elegant, offering aromas reminiscent of ripe white fruit, peach, apricot, and citrus, complemented by notes of white flowers, hay, vanilla, fine pastry, and subtle mineral and saline hints.
